Christen Schweizer
Christen Schweizer is a mentor, author, and advocate for connection-driven learning. Her forthcoming book, I, Centaur: Coregulation Mentorship for Horses, Humans, and Mastery, explores how emotional attunement, imitation, and feedback shape effective mentorship. Christen developed the Centaur Mentor model, a framework applicable to Riders and Horses, Teachers and Students, Parents and Children, Managers and Teams—any relationship where influence and behavior change are key.
At Calling Bird Farm Academy, she teaches horsemanship through a structured levels-based curriculum, emphasizing Straightness Training as a licensed Straightness Training Instructor and using longe work to develop an independent seat.
Beyond the equestrian world, Christen is the Director of Analytics at Esse Health, blending her analytical expertise with heart-centered mentorship. She holds a degree in Economics from WashU, an online MBA, and multiple Health IT certifications. Passionate about the intersection of neuroscience, mentorship, and personal transformation, she views horsemanship as a path to self-mastery.
Christen lives in Wildwood with her husband, their four children, three horses, and a pony.
